Today Scott and I took Ernie to the dog park. Its was so much fun there were so many dogs and they would run up to Ernie really fast to get to know him. His reaction was so funny he would quickly sit down and his eyes would get really big, then he would run between my legs. I wish I would have had my camera because the look on his face was priceless. But anyway the dog park itself is really nice it has a lot of different trails, and a very large swimming pond. We had a lot of fun.

Minnesota

Well we finally made it. We made it to Minnesota, and we are loving it. We are almost completely unpacked and settled in, which is a good feeling. Today we drove around doing some exploring. That was a lot of fun, and we learned a lot about our area and our new home. There is so much to do for fun, we found a beach that is really close to us, we also found a huge park with a dog park which is really great. We had lunch at a really yummy pizza place called Davanni’s, it was the BEST pizza that I have ever had. This is such a nice, clean town, and the people are really nice. I could see us being here for a long time. I keep you posted, bye.

Today is the big day!

Well today is the big move! I am so excited to be moving and start on a new adventure. Everything is packed up, loaded up, cleaned, and ready to go. I have already completed my list of things to do today, so now I can just sit back and relax as I wait for 4pm to roll around. I am so tired from having to get everything done in such a short amount of time. I know that I could not have got everything done it my mom didn’t come help. My sister said that she would help but with all the kids and everything that she has to do I felt bad asking her to come over. Well any way I better get going I need to play with my puppy before he has to go back in his cage for a long car drive.

Project Uganda Continues!

WOW it has been a long time since I’ve writen. There is so much to talk about. First of all my trip to Uganda was amazing like it always is. I had helped out with many different projects this time around. The project that really means a lot ot me is my involvement with Busoga University. I have been working with the Art Department faculty. Orginally I thought that their biggest need was the lack of computer equipment for the computer graphic students. When I arrived to the University I was given a tour of a beautiful campus when the tour got to the art department portion the building were nothing but mud buildings. They had no electricity, they didn’t even have doors on the buildings. The lack of doors on the buildings were enabling vandelism of the students art work. I was told that this was one of the first departments that the University had establish. This department has been in a constant battle with the administration of the University to get the funding that they need to help improve the department.

I spent 2-3 hours a day for 3 days talking to the students and teachers. It was interesting sharing my experiences with them as a student, as a graduate trying to find a job, and as someone who is just starting to deal with clients. I realized as I was speaking with the teachers that the biggest issue for the students right now is the lack of basic art supplies. At the University the students have to purchase their own art supplies, this is nothing out of the ordinary I had to purchase my own art supplies all through my three years of school, the difference is that these students have no way of earning an income for these very expensive supplies.

I have started getting the students involved in making pieces of art work for sale here in the U.S. I have a really good friend (the lady that I always travel with I have talked about her in my previous posting) that is going to be having a art fair/auction where she will be selling Jinja Jewlery, and the art from the students from Busoga University. I will also be getting more invovled in Jinja Jewlery, I will also be starting so art supply drives to help raise fund for art supplies for the students at the University. The medical team that I traveled with and had the opportunity to work with sent a container with medical supplies to the hospital that is about 20 minutes away from the University that is hopefully there by now, and they are sending another one in Jan. I was given the approval to send any supplies that I get donated on this container to the school free of charge. This is so awesome!! One of the things that I was struggling with was that I wanted to help this school and their students but I was not sure how I was going to be able to send the supplies that had been donated, then God just completely opened the door. So my goal is that by Jan. I have enough art supplies to last the students and the school for a while. If any one would like to help me with this project, whether its by donating, praying for me, this project, and the University and their students, or in any other way I would greatly appreciate it. Loosing a roommate, very sad!

So our roommate has a job in Denver, Co. and has decided to move out there instead of Minneapolis with us. This is very sad, but all the same it is very exciting. I am so happy for her and I know that she will love her new job.

But on a more happier note, I am still so excited to be moving out of Janesville and out of Wisconsin. I can’t wait, I still don’t have a job but that is ok. I know that God will work it all out!

So I have made a goal of becoming more tidy and more organized, its not really working out for me the way I would like it to. For example I have no method for organizing my bills and when they are due, I just have them piled up on my very disorganized desk. I need help with my organization skill before I officially go crazy! I have become addicted to the Real Simple website and I have received many good ideas, but unfortunately most of these great ideas involve money, money that I don’t have. It would be awesome if anyone had any cheap, and simple ideas that would really help me out!

Well I think I am going to head off to bed it is getting late. I am so looking forward to hearing some really good ideas, THANKS!!!!

Yay! Scott just got a job at a new spa in Minneapolis, so we are officially moving to Minneapolis. I am so excited. I love new places and meeting new people. I can’t wait to start this new adventure with Scott and Eleanor!

So much happening all at once

There has been so much that has been going on at the same time I feel that I need to just vent to get it all off my chest.

First of all about a week or two ago I found out that I have psoriasis. I found out that my great grandmother had it really bad, and it is hereditary. Its not that big of a deal, it’s just obnoxious. The up side is that I have to go in to the clinic about 4 times a week for “phototheropy” treatments which is basically tanning and because I am on my parent insurance it is completely paid for.

Then it was the stress of my sisters wedding. Don’t get me wrong it was fun and beautiful, it was just a long weekend. The reason I say that it was a stressful weekend is because she was so stressed that we began to become stressed for her. But again it was a beautiful wedding.

I recently have had the added stress of trying to find a job. I just graduated form MATC so as we all know that means that it is time to go out into the really world and find a job. I have been applying every where I can possibly think to apply. My boyfriend and our roommate have been wanting to move from our current area. We have recently been focusing on the Minneapolis area, but now that has all changed since my roommate has been getting interviews in Colorado. So needless to say I have found some pretty awesome jobs in the Colorado area. So we will see what happens with that.

The hardest thing about the job search and possible move situation is that everything is so unsure. I am the type of person that likes to know whats going to happen and have some type of plan even if that plan has potential to change. I know that God is in control, a part of me just wishes that He would just shoot me an email telling me where to work, where to live, and such things like that. I have been praying about it a lot, and I feel like I just have not been given any clue as to what I should do. I guess it will just have to be an adventure.

Well that was my rant for the night. I’m off to bed yay!

It’s over

Wow, it’s over, I’m done! I feel like a load of bricks has been lifted from my shoulders. I worked so hard and I made it to my portfolio show! Three years of hard work and in about four hours time its was over. I at the end of the show I was a little frustrated for a couple reasons. One, I was placed in the very back of the room so not many people came to see my work, I mean not even my teachers (one did my film teacher). I don’t know it just seemed like all that work, stress, and money that I put into it was for nothing. But its over, and that is all that matters.

Today was my first day off, I mean complete day off no work or school work, I had nothing that I had to get done. I honestly don’t remember the last time a had a day like this. It was so nice! I was able to sleep in and everything. Although, once I was up I wasn’t able to sit still so I did get off the couch and clean my disaster of an apartment for a little while, but I remained in my pj’s while doing that. I had a really nice day, after sleeping in and getting some cleaning done, Scott and I went to his parents house for diner, then we rented some movies, and just sat on the couch TOGETHER and watched a movie. It felt so good to just cuddle up next to him and hang out like that, I can’t remember the last time we did that either. I really needed that, we both really needed that. With all the stress that I have had and the stress that he has had we have been at each other constantly. Nothing major, but it still sucked.

I just wish that there was a way that I could show him how much he means to me. He does so much for me, especially when I am stressed or just being a complete poop. He is my best friend as silly as that sounds. I don’t know, its hard for me to express my feelings through words, I have never really been good at that. Well I guess that is all for now, I’m sure I’ll write more as it happens.

oh P.S. Scott was looking at engagement rings online the other day, so we’ll see what happens!!!

Stress

So as you all know I have not posted anything for several months. I am beginning to stress out more than I would like to so I thought I would just type out my stress.

My school work load is big but slowly getting smaller. For this entire semester I have been preparing for my Portfolio Show which is on May 1st (only about two more weeks left). This is what I have left to do:

1. Finish exporting my video
2. Compose music for my Demo Reel and DVD men
3. Get my resume, business cards, DVD cover, and DVD lable to the printers
4. Burn DVD
5. Finish my website
6. Put my Package together

My goal is to have all of this done by the end of this weekend. So yeah, on top of all that I am leaving again for Uganda Africa in August and it has completely crept up on me. I have to $2,300 for my plane ticket by June and I don’t even have my letters asking for donations sent out yet. I have been so focused on getting my Portfolio done on time that I completely lost track of time. I have been stressing out about everything, it will be nice when things calm down and I can not be so stressed out. If anyone has any ideas to help relieve some of this stress feel free to let me know or if you would like to find out more about what I am doing in Uganda just read my previous postings. I feels good to vent.

Wow

Wow it has been a long time since I’ve last posted something, this is also would be the first time in a long time that I have had two second of time that I could post something. Well I have moved out of my parents house, and lets just say that I am have a blast. Just the sense of independence has been fun, not to mention the fact that I am living with probably my two favorite people, Scott & Eleanor!! It still feels weird being on my own, its weird not going home at night that has but I’ll get over it. So anyway not really sure what else to say not much has been going on just the usual school, and work with a few extra things throw in there. Well I better get going I need to head home for the night. talk you all later!
